Daffodils at Crubenbeg Guest House Newtonmore, bed and breakfast, b&b, dog friendly accommodationCrubenbeg House is set in an acre of peaceful countryside nestling in a stand of Scots Pines at the foot of Cruben Beag Hill.

Our slightly elevated position means that you can savour the unequalled scenery on our doorstep. Looking up the valley to the north you’ll see The Monadliath Mountains laid out in all their glory – bathed in the evening sunlight they are truly majestic.

From our front door, we have views across Glen Truim to the range of hills between us and Glen Tromie – views that you, too, can enjoy from our Guest Lounge and from all 4 Bedrooms.

A 3 or 4 minutes walk down our drive takes you to a wee stone bridge from which you can admire the Falls of Truim. Here the River Truim gushes its way through a series of narrow gullies before settling down to meander along the valley bottom for a couple of miles to its confluence with the Spey. This world-renowned river flows on to the famous salmon fishing beats near Grantown, to the “infamous” Whisky Distilleries and thence to the North Sea at the delightful Spey Bay.

Rainbow at Crubenbeg Guest House Newtonmore, bed and breakfast, b&b, dog friendly accommodationBehind us, you can clamber up Cruben Beag, perhaps stopping to catch your breath by the cairn, built over 100 years ago by a devoted Mr McRae to commemorate his wife’s favourite viewpoint when out walking her dog.

Over the years lots of different birds & animals have settled in the fields, heather & trees around the house. Deer regularly stroll in the fields around us, weasels, stoats & rabbits skitter about and the air literally teems with the bird life – pheasants, oyster catchers, lapwings, partridges & blue tits to name but a few of our regular visitors. Not forgetting, of course, our occasional visitor, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and the ducks from the pond behind the holiday cottages.

All this rural splendour and yet we are just 2 minutes off the A9.

We’re easy to get to and very convenient for Newtonmore, Kingussie, Aviemore, Laggan & Dalwhinnie, for the whole of Strathspey and for access to this side of the Cairngorms National Park.
