Hogmanay Breaks 2012

Attention: open in a new window. PDF | Print | E-mail

Hogmanay_BreaksThe Cairngorm Highlands of Scotland are a superb location for a Festive Break. There’ll more than likely be snow on the hills and we get more crisp clear days than you may think – a truly magical setting in which to see out the Old Year and, of course, welcome the New.

At Crubenbeg House, we offer our traditional warm welcome, personal service and a friendly, “house-party” atmosphere. After a day sampling the delights of this wonderful area, put your feet up in front of our crackling fire, glass in hand, chat to fellow guests prior to savouring one of Irene’s superb dinners - perfect.

Irene’s excellent home cooking offers you the chance to enjoy a range of “Tastes of Scotland” without having to venture out each evening!! We’re more than happy to cater for any dietary needs that you might have, don’t worry,

We’re open right through Hogmanay and we offer either 3 or 4 night Breaks.

These include Bed & Full Breakfast, a 3-course dinner each evening, except on Hogmanay itself, when we serve a fabulous superb 4-course Celebration Dinner. Traditionally and weather permitting, we all take part in a torch-lit procession & fireworks in Newtonmore, returning to Crubenbeg House for a glass or two of bubbly (and a welcome bacon roll) to welcome in the New Year.

Then, on New Year’s morning, we lead our guests on a delightful local walk. In previous years this has been round the Wildcat Trail, a lovely 3 hour circuit round the boundaries of Newtonmore!! This year, we did a glorious walk through the the forest from Feshie Bridge to the Uath Lochans, the Strath's best kep secret!! Getting some fresh air is, we find, ideal for working up an appetite for dinner. Our guests seem to agree!

Here's a couple of photos of 2009's New Years Day Walk - the weather wasn't our best friend, as you can see - it was much better for 2010 & 2011 and the sun even shone on the first day of 2012, honest!

If you'd like us to, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Please note, however, that at the time of writing we already have bookings for two of our rooms - but that means we still have the other two available!!
