You'll not need us to tell you that the Cairngorm Highlands of Scotland are a superb location for a Festive Break. There’ll more than likely be snow on the hills and we get more crisp clear days than you may think – a truly magical setting in which to see out the Old Year and, of course, welcome the New.

At Crubenbeg House, we offer our traditional warm welcome, personal service and a friendly, “house-party” atmosphere. After a day sampling the delights of this wonderful area, put your feet up in front of our crackling fire, glass in hand, chat to fellow guests prior to savouring one of Irene’s superb dinners - perfect.

Irene’s excellent home cooking offers you the chance to enjoy a range of “Tastes of Scotland” without having to venture out each evening!! We’re more than happy to cater for any dietary needs that you might have, don’t worry,

Sample Dinner Menus.

We’re open right through Hogmanay and we offer either 3 or 4 night Breaks.

These include Bed & Full Breakfast, a delightful dinner each evening and, Hogmanay itself, a superb Celebration Dinner. Traditionally and weather permitting, we all take part in a torch-lit procession & fireworks in Newtonmore, returning to Crubenbeg House for a glass or two of nice wine (and welcome warming nibbles) to welcome in the New Year.

Then, on New Year’s morning, we lead our guests on a delightful local walk. This year, we did a glorious walk round our local Glentruim Woods. Getting some fresh air is, we find, ideal for working up an appetite for dinner. Our guests seem to agree!

We have had mixed weather on some of our New Years Day Walks. As you can see, a few years ago the weather wasn't our best friend, but this year the walker got glorious views up the Upper Spey Valley. Most of the time, it has been just fine, honest! I was not able to go on this year's walk as I was wheelchair-bound but I was still put to work!!
