Lemon Seafood Pate (Starter)

Ingredients (Serves 6)

¼ lb/110 grs Salted Butter.

½ lb/225 grs canned sardines. (You can substitute other oily fish or mix in other fish, to suite your taste.)

¼ lb/110 grs good cream cheese

Juice of half a lemon

½ teaspoon French Mustard

Salt & Pepper


Method

Beat the butter until soft & creamy.

Add the sardines, with their oil, and beat all together.

Add the cream cheese, mustard, salt, lemon and plenty of black pepper and mix well.

Put into a dish or individual ramekins, and top with a little melted butter & black pepper.

Serve with hot toast or oatcakes or warm fresh bread.
