Do we ask for Deposits?

We do not usually request a deposit, preferring to ask for a credit or debit card guarantee. If you prefer to send a cheque, we ask for a deposit of £25.00 per person. We take no money at the time of booking, leaving you to settle your bill when you take your leave of us.

What if I need to Cancel?

If you cancel your reservation within 21 days of the confirmed date of arrival and we are unable to re-let your room, we reserve the right to make a cancellation charge of £25.00 per person, per night. Cancellations more than 21 days prior, will not incur a cancellation charge.

Please note that different cancellation charges apply to our Christmas & Hogmanay Breaks.

If you have to cancel your Christmas or Hogmanay Break within 28 days of your arrival date and we are unable to re-let your room(s), we regret that we will have no option but to charge for the full cost of your break. We will, of course, send you a full set of documentation to allow you to reclaim the sums from your insurance company.

Guests who do not turn up.

Sad to say, there are some guests who simply don't turn up for their booking!! In the event of this happening, we have no choice but to charge the full cost of your stay to the card number that you give us to confirm your booking. We will, of course, send you a full set of documentation to allow you to reclaim the sums from your insurance company.

What time can I Check In & Check Out?

Check in time is 4.00pm onwards or earlier by prior arrangement. We ask you to vacate your room by 10.30 am on your day of departure.

Do you accommodate Families?

We welcome families with youngsters aged 12 & over. They can, of course, have their own room at the full tariff or they can sleep on a very comfy foam bed sharing a room with two adults. Stag will comfortably accommodate 2 youngsters on the foam beds, Osprey or Pine are fine for just 1 youngster. When sharing with two adults, there is a small charge of £15.00 to cover laundry & breakfast - that's all.

However, it is only fair that we point out that many of our guests who stay with us are taking a break from their own youngsters and are looking for a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. As such we do ask that all our younger guests behave in a way that will not spoil our other guests' enjoyment.

What about Dogs?

We love 'em and you are more than welcome to bring your dog with you. However not everyone is a dog lover and we do ask that you ensure that your pooch doesn't spoil other guests' stays with us. Also, if you are bringing your dog with you, please don't forget to bring their bed, blanket, food and bowl. Lastly, we do ask that your dog is not left alone in your room at all and ask that he or she is popped out to your car during mealtimes.

Do you cater for Special Diets?

We pride ourselves in providing excellent choices for guests who have special dietary needs. We simply ask that you discuss these with us at the time you make your booking.

I'm allergic to feather pillows. Can you help?

Yes, of course. Just let us know when you book and we'll change the feather pillows on your bed and, if you're in Capercaillie, we'll change the mattress topper too - no problem at all.

Do you have a Licence?

We do indeed. We stock an interesting selection of wines, beers & spirits and will happily serve you in our lounge through to 11.00pm. You can, of course, take "one for the road" up to your room thereafter.

What time is Breakfast?

We serve breakfast between 8.00 & 9.00am on Monday to Saturday and between 8.30 & 9.30am on Sunday.

What is your policy on Mobile Phones, Smartphones & Laptops?

Mobile phones and laptops are wonderful things but their inappropriate use can be a real irritation to other guests. Accordingly we prefer the simplicity of asking that they are "Switched Off" in our public areas. However, if you prefer the "comfort" of having your phone on silent, please only take or make calls or do your e-mails in the privacy of your room - quite simply to avoid being rude to our other guests.

Do you have anywhere I can Smoke?

The simple answer is no. We do not offer any facilities at all in the house for guests who wish to smoke but we do provide a "Butt Bin" for guests who smoke outside. We ask all our guests to respect our wishes on this sensitive issue.
